Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

Is Gabon safe and easy to travel in?

Yes, though infrastructure is minimal outside Libreville — which is exactly why a private guide and pre-arranged logistics matter here more than almost anywhere else on the continent.

When can I see the surfing hippos?

Loango's hippos can be seen on the beach year-round, though calmer seas from June to September make sightings and photography easier.

Is this itinerary fixed?

No. Every element here — the camps, the pacing, the number of nights in each location — can be adjusted. This is a starting point for a conversation with your trip designer, not a fixed departure.

What isn't included in the price?

International flights, visas, travel insurance, and gratuities are excluded, along with any optional activities beyond what's listed. Your trip designer will provide a full, itemised quote before you book.
